Finished e-mailing to all the senators. Its easy than AILA website if you have google toolbar to fill in the addresses.
1.Use the Autofill feature in the google toolbar.
2.Put the mailing address in the autofill.
3.Then Select the Senator's contact page.
4.Press the autofill option on google toolbar.All the fields are populated
5.Cut and paste the letter in the message body.

We tend to forget that we are not lawmakers :p
When EB3 talked about the fair share or EB2 talks about porting, its an unnecessary fight that gets us nowhere..
When we talk about CIS wasting the visas in the past that led us here and racist remnants of INA in establishing country limits on top of free enterprise selection, We all win..

I agree.. Remember labor substitution was also legal once upon a time. However when people reported the facts to USCIS the labor substitution was banned..
But buy then major damage was done..
Therefore EB2 guys wake up till there is time.
The priority date should be always based on the particular labor filling or the filing of I140 (which ever applicable)
I am not against anyone getting GC. If everyome gets GC today, I am all for it. But no solution is in sight. But that does not mean someone elase will try to push EB2 back.
Therefore just wanted to let EB2 guys realize what will happen to them if no action is taken.

This would automatically address all those folks who deserved to be in EB2 but couldnt either becuase lawyer screwed up or issues with sponsoring company.

Eb3-I would move much slower then snail's pace.
My PD is Jan 04, so I am not sure how many years would it take for my PD to be current. :(
god knows how many years...but one thing i'm sure for my GC will come after 12 Years ...
My son is 6 years old on this 12th Sep 2009 and he will file for my GC at the age of 18...
till then no worry ...enjoy with kids....

Any lobbying for immigration is tough at the time of recession. I think you are trying to do advocacy effort. Without getting approval from core IV group it will not be any use as advocacy effort only will not work. Senators will note your concerns and will act only if some bill is introduced. You need lobbying with advocacy effort for changing any law. Lobbyists will lobby only at right time as if they do in wrong time it will backfire.

For people on H1B any wrong step will cause government to shut down the entire immigration or punish immigrants. They did it with TARP and now they will do it in every industry if we do not understand. The newspaper headline will be H1B Indians immigrants asking for greencards after taking American jobs. Like it or not, but this is how antis will show us and all Americans and lawmakers who are sympathetic towards us till now will support antis due to bad economy and for the need of Citizens to stick together in bad times. You have also made this issue of Indians and that is a big no no. Indians now getting a bad name and have become notorious and if you highlight 'Indians' then you are in for a failure. So any campaign should be about all immigrants and not just Indians. Indian Immigrants are having a bad reputation in IT circles these days.

As an update,
I called TSC again today. Previously, I called early in the morning here on the East Coast and was transferred to the national service center, so at least this time I got to speak to someone @ TSC.
I gave them my receipt # and as soon as I mentioned biometrics the person said that she will schedule appointments for me and my wife and depending on availability at the local center I should get an appointment letter in the following 60 days. They must be getting a lot of this type of calls because she was very prompt to schedule the appointment. I also asked about my NC status and that was cleared in Sept so good news there as well.
I'm a little more optimistic as this time as at least now I know that USCIS initiated the request.... I'll wait and see what happens next.
So basically, this is the 3rd time I call and the first time they're willing to do anything to help.
I actually did call in mid Nov. and opened a SR. I then got a canned response about a month ago on how the case is within processing time and blah blah... I call again this morning and apparently their system was experiencing some kind of problem and the rep. wasn't able to open a new SR although she did apologize and thought that 5 months is an excessive amount of time to wait for biometrics. She then transferred me to an IO who based on the service center processing times posted online told me that they're currently processing May 07 and my receipt date of July 12 is not up yet.... What a bunch of BS!

thanks indigokiwi. The deadline is end of March, but we would like a large amount of this raised much earlier, since it involves making reservations, booking appointments, for Eg. with the lobbyist.
We need to raise about $1000 everyday to meet the goal.

Thats not true. My PD is March 2005. When my PD comes, I have to apply for EAD whereas others will get GC. Oh such a screwed up system.

Living off the wealth others have created?? What are you talking about? Also, this issue is not just about programmers. It is about doctors, scientists, engineers and several other qualified professionals. Do some fact-checking rather than being a nitwit. Go take a walk.
Why don't posters on this forum move back to their home country and concentrate on making their home country great instead of slamming into someone else's country and just living off the wealth others have created?
The bottom line is that a SKIL act is not needed. Hundreds of thousands of American programmers have lost their job to the third world, both in outsourcing and insourcing of third world programmers who work for cheaper wages. There is absolutely no need for more foreigners here and no need for more green cards. Temporary workers are just that - temporary. If you are on a temporary visa, work your time, make some money for your family and head home when your time is up. Don't cry that we don't provide enough green cards when you knew what kind of visa you were on.

You are wrong. How are the pay stubs link to your future GC job. Employment Letter is listed right there on I-485 form as initial evidence.

Can we also try to involve some professional organisations like, TIE here and NASSCOM there. Indian government should also atleast give feelers to US govt for this unjust move, even if they cannot abolish per country quota, they can atleast make it depending on few parameters:

Current estimates suggest that there may be as many as twelve million undocumented immigrants in our country. A balanced approach to immigration reform is needed to contain and reverse this trend. Any solution must protect the United States economy, meet our homeland security needs, and reduce the backlog and wait times associated with legitimate applications for legal entry.

It is simply not realistic to expect our economy to continue prospering without providing some mechanism for legal temporary workers to continue their efforts.
That is why I am a cosponsor of the AgJOBS bill. Our national economic survival relies on retaining the agricultural labor force while bringing workers out from the shadows, a goal the AgJOBS bill helps meet. However, I also believe we should significantly enhance the American labor market by placing a priority on educating U.S. students and training American workers instead of fostering a reliance on foreign workers. Businesses seeking to hire a temporary professional worker should pledge that they have made a good-faith effort to hire U.S. workers first and that the temporary professional worker will not displace a U.S. worker. I believe that these provisions can be met without stifling business and economic growth.
In addition, true border security can come only from the increased use of manpower and effective technology together with an efficient and judicious legal immigration application process. The indefinite state of limbo in which many applicants for legal American immigration status find themselves is a part of the problem that we can control. By allocating more resources to efficiently process applications, we can significantly cut wait times for applicants and reduce the influx of undocumented immigrants. As Congress considers future immigration legislation, I will factor your recommendations into my decision making.

I mailed mine on May 25 and up to now I haven't gotten anything yet. My lawyer mailed it to NSC and since my I-140 is pending with the TSC, my lawyer said they will just forward it there. It's taking too long. Anybody in the same boat as I am?

Thanks for the excellent suggestion. Do you know Dr. Woo or do you know someone who would know Dr. Woo? That would help a lot. Will initiate the contact with 80-20 initiative right away.
