FYI...
My attorney sent documents to NSC on July 2nd 10.30 AM
Transferred from NS --> TSC with receipt date Aug 29'th.
My cheques were cashed on Aug 29th. Have not received the receipt numbers physically by psotal mail.
My question to you is " Will TSC send the receipt number documnets directly to me or to my Attorney?"

HE says that I will need to send a letter to the address on receipt (TSC) with the copy of online address change submission and stating that you moved and needs the address to be updated asap. After almost 40 days of filing, here is an email I got....nothing of substance :mad:
We have requested an appointment be scheduled for you to complete biometrics. A notice will be sent when a time becomes available.
If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.
Please remember: By law, every person who is not a U.S. citizen and who is over the age of 14 must also notify the Department of Homeland Security within 10 days from when they move (persons in "A" or "G" nonimmigrant status are exempt from this requirement). If you have moved, please complete a Form AR-11 and mail it to the address shown on that form. If you do not have this form, you can download it from our website or you can call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 and we can order one for you. That's the reason I said if we at least get 1000 members then we can ask core members and get their help. members should seriously think if they can make it before they saying yes.. I think even Friday option works as member can take long weekend and spend weekend in DC. We will also get to know all IV members.

I recommend a Monday to a Friday. Most of the media/office folks will take friday off as well like you and me. Media will be fresh on monday and people will get good E fares to fly out into DC on Saturday and fly out on Monday night/Tuesday early morning (if at all some one comes out of town). Also forget the 1000 number. We can have a good impact if we have 300+ members and families. When you put a poll out there, have 2 options for sure
a) I will come to DC on any day at any cost to attend this rally.
b) I want to come but I dont know how it will work out, when the day comes.

When you think about it, reservation and quota system is actually a better deal for the upper caste.
First check out this picture, which details the population percentages and proposed reservations: File:PopulationEstimations.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PopulationEstimations.jpg)
As per the above picture, 52% of people in India belongs to Backward classes according to Mandal estimates. Since the proposed reservation for them is 27%, the reservation system works in favor of Forward classes as long as Backward classes are not uplifted from their current pathetic situation. Another way of looking at the graph is that 25.5% of people in India belongs to forward classes; and their share in the Indian pie in terms of higher education of job opportunities --> (100 - 27 - 22.5 = 50.5%). Personally I like this system, than 25.5% of us getting only 25.5% of our share.
To conclude:

hey guys,
I was scared to take a trip to my country thinking that I would get my FP notice while I am away..but am back from my vacation and still no sign of FP.
I called the center..and the IO told me that they are within their processing times and they have upto 111 days to send me the FP notice?!!!
I had opened an SR on 3rd Oct...but of absolutely no use! I also got a letter from them stating that they are within their processing times.
any idea how to solve this mess?

I agree. I think each of us should commit to getting AT LEAST 5 more volunteers for the protest in San Jose. This could be family/friends/neighbors etc. We also need a poll to track how many will show up on the 14th.

Just got back from Canada.
All went smooth. Upon arrival at Toronto (Pearson) Airport, the Landing procedure was very smooth and pleasant. No questions asked about our business in the US at all and about how long we were going to be in Canada. We dealt with 4 different Canadian officials at various points in the landing process and all were very pleasant and easy going.
We stayed in Canada for a week. Liked it. Did a lot of sightseeing and research all over Ontario. We will be going back in December to British Columbia to check that side of the country out and decide where we would live if we move to Canada.
This afternoon (07/10) we flew back to the US. Once again we got no questions about our business in Canada. The US IO did ask how long we were there for.
The AP processing took about 45 minutes and after that we hopped on the puddle-jumper and landed in Baltimore. The US IOs were actually the nicest i have seen (had not left the country since 2000) and i noticed that all the IOs were minorities (middle-eastern, Indian, pacific rim origins).
Overall good trip + we have Canada in our back pocket in case there is no progress with our US GC in the next 12 months. I recommend others to do the same, our whole process took less than 2 years. Plus we did it on our own without any attorney. It is quite straightforward.

Guys, when you write to senators/WH/ other officials, Its important to include the reasons for this huge backlog. 1) Wasted visa numbers due to CIS inefficiencies for past decade.
2) Country quota... I believe the visa waste is more of a problem on their side. Also when you highlight a problem, do not just end with problem, quantify with quoting the visa bulletin's memos and other statistics from ombudsman's report.
Important, include a suggested approach to resolution as well.. which is "Recapture the wasted visa numbers and elimination / fixing the dispropotionate of country quota". This will atleast set the precendence to thought process on the fix.
abrupt and emotional emails would not cut it in this protectionist environment created due to job loss and economy. Just a humble suggestion. We have to be a part of solution to housing problem as well.
