Mr. Paraya Desi
I request you to mind your language. What you say displays a complete lack of understanding about the system
It is not that they want the "most qualified" or "most brilliant" FIRST, and the rest later. As an example, if your toilet broke down and you have an urgent need to use it, would you welcome a beautiful girl knocking on your door, or a plumber. It is like this. It is a question of WHAT the COUNTRY needs, not who is made of gold
Therefore dont think you are as an EB2 more (or less) entitled to anything, and correct the "faltu" ideas in your brain
"Mind my language", clearly this must be a case of lost in translation. I am not entitled more or less, IV can close shop today, I did not come to the USA because there was EB1/2/3 or IV fighting my battles, enjoy your journey. Stop whining, there are millions of Americans suffering, don't tell me just because you know java you are better than them.
We human beings have established a certain world order
Why is tougher to get through EB1?
Why does your boss make more money than you?
Why does a certified plumber cost more?
Why do men go after a pretty girl? shouldn't the ugly one get attention as much attention?
Why Katrina Kaif is sought after not Nandita Das?
Why does a person with a 770 credit score get lower interest?
Why why why?
Oh BTW, if your toilet broke down, do not panic, shut your door tight get some air freshner, and then you could consider the pretty girl.
And if my toilet broke down, I will hire a plumber for an hour to fix it, I will not let the plumber move into a room in my house.
What are you expecting? You want IV to get you salvation?
Look, there is no compulsion, you don't like the system, it ain't going to upset anybody if you take the steamer to Bombay tonight.

So it's the day before the flowers will be delivered and let's make the most out of this story. Here are the links to the press release to use
PDF version (http://www.touchdownusa.org/pdf/USCISFlowerCampaign.pdf) that can be sent as an attachment.
HTML version (http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ap9x7pmvk6s_32c3khvg) that can be copy-pasted as text of the email. This (http://www.touchdownusa.org/pdf/Response.pdf) is our updated press release in response to the message on the USCIS website.
Most news organizations have dedicated reporters to cover immigration issues; so our first contact should be with them, since they'd be most interested in this story. Contact the writers of any immigration related stories that you've read recently - contact either by phone, or by email. If you are contacting by email here are a few helpful tips
Make sure that title/information of that person's most recent article is used in the subject line. Something like, 'Follow up to Green Card Woes in WSJ'
Refer to the article in the body of your email. For example
You recently wrote about the frustrations of green card applicants due to a reversal by the USCIS (Wall Street Journal - July 5, 2007 - 'Reversal Frustrates Green Card Applicants'). I am one of those skilled, legal applicants and we are planning to protest against this decision the USCIS in a unique and peaceful manner - by sending hundreds, if not thousands of flower bouquets to the director of USCIS, Mr. Gonzalez on July 10th.
After this, you can say that please refer to the attached press release for more information
Wrap up your email with something like, "This is probably the first time when skilled, legal professionals are participating in an event like this at this scale and it goes to show the level of anxiety in the community right now. Would you be willing to write about this event as a follow-up to your previous article?"
There is no harm in giving your contact number to let the reporter know that you can be contacted for any follow-up questions.
Other things that we can do to create a buzz around it is to talk about it in blogs, various forums etc., specially if you are a blogger. Already, if you search USCIS+Flowers in Technorati, there are a good number of hits - we should try and increase them.
Call up your local public radio station and tell them about this event (http://www.npr.org/stations/)
Any other ideas regarding increasing the visibility of this campaign should be posted on this thread.
I would try to contact FM 104.9 and AM 700 in Dallas both radio stations are delivering programs in Hindi and Urdu and to the extent very popular in SOuth Assian community. I would update here about my efforts.

Reform Immigration For America
Organizations Reform Immigration For America (http://reformimmigrationforamerica.org/blog/about/organizations/)
A lot of big organizations there in list.
So if IV is their partner, is our agenda part of their list? Not sure. If not, could we ensure that it is ? And, is it OK to send fax on their behalf as well? I guess it will be, IF our items are present..

Below is what I sent. Maybe we can tweak this letter and send it to all senators and congressmen.
Subject: Discrimination of Indian Immigrants
Dear President Obama,
I wanted to bring to your attention the plight of hundreds of thousands of highly skilled Indian immigrants waiting endlessly for many years in order to obtain a permanent residency in the US. The process of getting a permanent residency is a long, winding, time consuming, financially and emotionally draining experience, with no end at sight. After 5 to 10 years of waiting in line, paying taxes, obeying law, many high skilled workers from India find that permanent residency is only a dangling carrot that they may never get it.
One of the biggest hurdles for high skilled immigrants from India is a country cap that limits applicants from any one country from having more than 7% of the available employment based green cards (140,000 visa numbers per year). This means applicants from countries like Andorra and Luxembourg get the same number of green cards as applicants from India and China. This causes a person from India and China to wait 5 to 10 years in order to get permanent residency while applicants from all other countries have zero wait time. We are here in USA because we wanted to be a part of USA, and not because we came from a certain country. All applicants should be treated equally and country cap only allows discrimination by national origin in the disguise of fairness to all, as US has a lot more high skilled workers from India or China than from Andorra or Luxembourg.
President Obama, we are here to pursue the American Dream and we find hurdles at every level during the immigration process. I request you to kindly remove the discriminatory country cap and provide us relief. This is a small step that can enormously help hundred of thousands of high skilled immigrants and we will be grateful to you for our lifetime.
Thank you President Obama and you are doing a wonderful job!
Sincerely,
Xxxxx xxxxx
You content seems to be okay. I urge everyone to use http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ website to post this content on whitehouse webpage. Sheer volume of the same request may draw Presidents attention to this issue....Also, it doesn't cost anything to do this.

I got a response from Tier2 officer that there are no Visa numbers available. She was pretty pissed that there hell a lot of indians calling and was close to making it racial. She read from a report that DOS sent to USCIS (page 31 is what she quoted) where she said there are no Visa numbers available. I am assuming its for this month.

Terrorists are banned from visiting USA.
Narenda Modi has been banned from visiting USA.
You do the reasoning :D
Ah, but terrorists targetting India are welcome in the USA. Musharraf is welcome to visit and Headley was welcome until he turned against the Europeans. Now see what Indian politicians are welcome in USA with reference to the original comment :p

No FP yet for me either. spouse received and completed FP couple of weeks ago.
I do not understand why the national center tells that FP is based on local availability and local center tells no FP because name check pending . These are so inconsistent and different answers we get from same organization.

This is what my lawyer says about EAD card.
"" If you want to use your EAD card, you should wait 180 days after the USCIS
received your I-485 application. You do not need to return to your sponsoring
employer if you use your EAD card after the 180 day waiting period. ""
Any comments ?
Thanks,

00:31:28 As president trump who would be the first person you would say you're fired to?

00:31:50 I don't want to say -- there's so many of them.
00:31:51 There really are.
00:31:53 There are so many of them.
00:31:54 You look at the department of education.
00:31:55 It goes for blocks and blocks and blocks.
00:31:59 Education should really be -- we have to -- like a little bit of supervision.
00:32:03 >> You wouldn't argue -- >> it should be a local thing.
00:32:07 >> I was going to mention education to you because the last word with the chinese, isn't it that they are educating their people better now than america is doing and that's why they're also jumping ahead?
00:32:19 Isn't that true?
00:32:20 >> You know where they're educating a lot of their people?
00:32:23 At our schools.
00:32:24 It's the most amazing thing.
00:32:25 They come over, they learn, they go to harvard, they go to wharton, they go to yale, they go to the best schools, then we force them to leave.
00:32:30 >> Okay.
00:32:31 >> No, no, we force them to leave.
00:32:34 >> When we come back, I'll ask you as a man who wins and knows how to pick a winner, which is where I come in, how are we going to win?
