I applied on 2nd July and got Receipts on 08/27/2007. Still waiting for the FP notice. There are lot of ppl in the same boat. Take it easy. I called USCIS last week and they opened Service Request for myself and mywife. Call USCIS and ask them to open SR.

Hang in there my friend. My 140 was first filed in Jan 2006 and was RFE'd for ability to pay. This 140 was withdrawn and was refiled by my company's sister concern in June 2006. We waited for a year and then in June 2007, applied for premium processing just before that was closed down. The check and request for premium were returned with the reason that the original labor app was not provided. Then we received an RFE for ability to pay yet once again in Sept 2007. This was addressed in a very detailed fashion by the HR & CPA working closely with my attorney. Finally on Oct 31st there was the approval notice. Thus, my advice to you would be stay put and patient and it'll all work out. Good Luck!

You have done your bit. Great! But that doesnt mean everyone has to believe in what you believe. You are acting as if you made a mistake by contributing to IV because other people are not contributing and that is frustrating to you. Please don't think you are doing a favor to anybody by contributing to IV. You are doing it for your own benefit. If somebody doesn't want to contribute, that's fine. Nobody needs a preaching here.

Well, I meant in the light of these new details coming out about visa numbers actually being available as claimed by "knowledgeable sources", and also in the light of the *kind of* questions being asked by Zoe Lofgren.
Just read the Ombudsman's report today - though I'd heard about these facts floating aroiund...
Not claiming to make some new discovery here... merely stating that it kinda makes sense now.
Sorry to start a new thread about this.... listened to Rajiv Khanna's recorded conf call and apparently he's not very hopeful anything will come out of AILF's class action...

But after that lot of water has flowen down from upper Ganges to Bengal Bay. After that Rajiv changed the opinion and specifically put a note on home page of immigration.com. That note now says it is smart to file in July. This gives us the hint, at least I beileve, in the background USCIS is forced to come up with favorable solution to us perhaps without the need of lawsuite by AILF. Around same time Greg Siskind came up with news that USCIS is holding the cases.. So let's wait

now a days that test is mandatory for all Asian countries. If you did master's in US then you no need to take that test. in their website there is a point calculation chart for the points that you get in IELTS the corresponding points for canada pr. If won't take that test mostly they will reject the application if you are from Asia.

US has been in number 1 in the past, moved to 2nd spot for a couple of years, in the world competitiveness rankings. For the first time, the US moved to the 6th Spot in the world rankings by the world economic forum (Europe based Institution). The main reason was because of the huge current account deficit and negative savings (mainly federal deficit) which is a threat to the US competitiveness. China moved down due to corruption etc. India moved up but any further movement will depend on structural reforms, especially controlling the huge public service and red-tape and a creaking infrastructure - power, roads, ports, water supply - all of which are run by the government. The health services in large parts of India is dismal and so is the public education system (K-12). With the left firmly controlling the ruling party, deregulation is slow and insipid, and it is the private sector which is basically contributing to the GDP and Competitiveness. OP already mentioned the change was expected in the NOC list [On-Demand occupation list of Alberta]. Nobody told it would be closed after April 15. Did you see all the postings here before blaming others?

Anotehr question in thsi regard, say ur I-94 expired and you applied for and got h1 renewal, and the new I-797 has the new I-94 in it, so we cut it from there and staple it to our passports ???

I think if PD remains current and continues to be current after october, then the I-485s are processed and approved as per the receipt date(RD). So your RD matters if everything continues to be current. If they retrogress, then I-485s are still processed as per I-485 RD, regardless of PD, but if the that PD is not current, then it it will be "placed in suspense" until such PD will become current.
I'm assuming that will happen. PDs will be retrogressed back sometime in sep/oct. And they will process all the current flood of applications. Not sure when they will get to June and beyond RDs(as per processing times they r still processing late 2006 RDs now). And after few months(say 6 months) they will move forward the PDs few months at a time.
The above is just my theory. I could be totally off, so don't come to any conclusions.

Ok maybe there are another forum but I can find you. My CPAS says we are going to receive the stimulus (it is not a rebate) but the IRS website says that if we are non-resident alen we won't. According with IRS only when you get GC you will be concider resident?????? It is true?????
