Excluding dependents is like making the Cap 2.5 times, when I say least controversial I intend to that everybody in the legal immigrant community will support it. If the cap becomes 300K Per annum, Iam sure everybody by which I mean even if somebody has filed for his / her labor today will get approved within 2 years (Equivalent to 600K visa numbers). Of course this will require a change of law but nobody EB1, EB2, EB3, ROW, India / China would oppose this as everybody's process gets speeded up. There is no other way to clear the backlog in its entirety and ensure that it does not happen again like this solution of excluding dependents.

We all morons wont still learn, we will still start prediting for next visa bulletin hoping that a reincarnation of god will ome and deliver us visa numbers.
Unless we all make a collective effort no one is going to listen to us. I know the fate of my post we all people are busy to get our post noted or express our opinion that we have lost our fous of what our main problem is. I think we deserve this perhaps I dont think if we continue like this we even deserve GCs.

140K GCs were available on Oct 1 2005 and Oct 2006: categories were not current.
< 40K GCs were available on June 12 2007: all categories were current.
If there is a law to prevent acceptance of ALL AOS's on Oct 1 (when 140K GCs are available) then that law was violated on June 12 2007.
If there is no law to prevent acceptance of AOS's on June 12 (when < 40K GCs were available) then all categories should have been current on Oct 1 2005 and Oct 1 2006.

I have a question regarding the 180 day rule. I am a July 2nd filer, got EAD and AP and did my FP. my I-140 was also approved in oct 2007. So, I will be meeting the 180 day rule and I-140 approved criteria in jan 2nd,08.
Can I change job after Jan 2nd or I have to wait for 180 days from the time of 140 approval date. I think if its from 485 receipt date, I do meet 180 days rule and am safe to move on with another job/employer.
I know this question should had been asked by other members also, but I don't want to search all threads.
Looking for some genuine answers instead of thread bashings.

You can use AC21 after 180 days from the I-485 receipt date.

If you have any emergency to go out of country or to change jobs, you can get your passport stamped by taking an Infopass appointment or you can request IO to upload the Biometrics to TSC. you will get the card in 10 or 15 business days after uploading the biometrics. either way your GC is approved..so no worries.
My answer is depending on my experience with GC.

All the posts above are good coping measures, and some are used to actually deal with depressive symptoms. However they have missed the MOST important one! You used the term clinical depression. Please if you truly feel that way seek help, and seek it now, talk to your doctor or to a councilor. Though I won't go into details, I am speaking from personal experience. Sometimes things build up so much that we slip into such a state where we go beyond sadness and frustration and move to true depression.
From a site on depression: Depression is a disorder that affects your thoughts, moods, feelings, behavior and even your physical health. People used to think it was "all in your head" and that if you really tried, you could "snap out of it" or just "get over it." But doctors now know that depression is not a weakness, and it's not something you can treat on your own. Depression is a medical disorder with a biological and chemical basis.
Sometimes a stressful life event triggers depression. Other times depression seems to occur spontaneously with no identifiable specific cause. Depression is much more than grieving or a bout of the blues.
Depression, true clinical depression, is nothing you can cure with a trip to somewhere else, or having people point out to you how much better you are off than this person or that one. I am linking one of many sites that are out there, please read it and if you really do have the symptoms do what it suggests. Or Google "Clinical Depression" (beware of sites trying to sell drugs, usually easy to tell as they tend to recommend their drug as the only solutions.):

On Aug 17th the message changed to "On Aug 16th Card Production Ordered...."

Did you receive the welcome notices? The 797 approval notices is what I mean.
Once you get that, from there within a weeks times you should get your physical cards.
From the CPO mail at the most 2 weeks. That is the trend.
