When getting the date for interview is there one day of the week better that other like would Monday ,Tuesdays be better or towards the end of the week be better for Chennai Consulate? (DOes it even make any difference ?)

Here are a few facts based on my first hand experience. I was employed with L&T Infotech for 5+ yrs and left them while in US on H1. Legally, they cannot do anything against you in US as bonds you signed were in Indian judicial limits and are not applicable in US. But yes, they can enforce it legally in India. I have heard and known cases wherein these Indian companies have taken employees to court. I am still following with my ex-company for settlement and they have a claim of 13-14K USD(they add interest on bond from the date you leave @ xx%). Get all papers from them before you part like detailed exp. letter etc, paystubs etc from GC perspective(if u r interested).
Read one of my posts of I140 issues that i am going thru. That will give you some idea of potential issues.
My advice - once you resign they will anyway take you to legal way in India...they will do this coz they have to follow there HR process and scare you and other people around you of repurcussions. Give them a resignation notice of 1-2 weeks and when they ask to stay a little longer to satisfy clients or knowledge transfer, then negotiate with them and get your paperwork etc. Decide on whats best in your future interests.

I have been a silent observer of the posts here in the IV.
I like the posts in general, the ideas in particular.
I am also a member of immigrationportal forums and have
seen a lot of interest in members there towards separating
the legal provisions in the senate's CIR S 2611 bill into a new bill/law,
and see if it can be passed quickly, as the law makers,
do not seem to have any problem with changes for legal immigrants
in it.
- Is this possible ?
- Can IV help at this critical times ?
- What would it take to get the House pick the legal immigrant
items in CIR S 2611 and pass it first ?

Hi,
My lawyer used a G325-A which was not downloaded from the USCIS website but was a physical form which had 4 pages of the same form in different colors(I think blue,green,yellow and pink).
I filled the first one and it automatically carbon copied it to the other 3.
Has anybody used such a form? and it is o.k to sign the first one and have the other 3 with carbon copy signatures?
Let me know if this is o.k

Years and years of waiting? no kidding. Look at my priority date. And there are people waiting before me. You used a pre-approved labor and have been waiting in the GC queue from what 2006? Dude, in today's world, a reasonable wait for eb3-is anywhere between 10-15 years and eb2 is atleast 5-6 years. I am not mad that you used a pre-approved labor, though in my personal opinion, its a taboo. I am just saying you are lucky enough that you may get your green card much quickly than people like us who have been waiting atleast 8-10 years and trust me, people like your case, usually should be happy.
I can empathize. I might me more luckier than you, and there are people *luckier* than me. (You know what I mean..) But, if for some reason I don't get my GC, and you get your GC in a few years, me being lucky to start with is of no use. Nothing is sure till GC is on-hand for anyone.
So, I would appreciate if someone could let me know if there are any disadvantages process-wise when it comes to I-485 adjudication on a pre-approved labor.

Please submit evidence of lawful presence from October 1998 until August 17, 2007.
The documents may include the following:
A) a photo copy of form I-797 for all extensions and change of status
B) photo copy of form I-20 or IAP66 school records (front and back) including all school annotations

I think that is standard message, my I-140 RD is sep 20th 2006 and got RFE on ability to pay last month and my employer responded on 10/04 and the online status changed to RFE response received and case processing resumed. its been more than a week no update.
Strange...my 140 was filed on Nov 2006....and then got a REF on August 29th 2007, my pawyer responsed last week...and I thought that as soon as USCIS gets the evidence they will hopefully approve my case....(the evidence was a minor (atleast I thought it was minor) issue about birth date...
and now USCIS has revieved the evidence they asked for...guess what they say...
On October 10, 2007, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. guys, why even bother waste your time on this. Please help IV gear up a movement to end retrogression. Please donate, make other IV aware...and send in ur stories......How do u think number crunching will help us....apart from making us feel worse.
