If it is Dec 2005 you must be from non-retro and going by the many approvals for non-retro, you should certainly expect it soon (especially if other checks are complete)

If someone completes their residency in US and gets a license to practice medicine, will this MD degree be valid in Canada and Australia?
My wife is doing her residency and due to this retrogression we want to have a plan B, and for plan B we want to know if it is worth moving to Canada or Australia after she completes her Residency? While I am in IT, I think the job scene is almost same everywhere which is based on experience.
I am sure a lot of IV members are physicians and would be looking into these options also. Please share your thoughts.

It is worse than your estimates below because when green card is issued spouse and children are also counted in the quota unlike the h1 where spouse and children are not counted in the quota. Even if we assume each green card applicat has only one child, there would be 3 visa numbers used for each GC applicant. Going by that India has a demand for 150K GC as per the perm statistics but it gets only about 10000 per year. At this rate people from India who applied for GC in 06 and 07 would have to wait about 15 years and 30 years respectively to get the GC!!!!!!!!

I you manage a team of engineers who themselves hold university degrees, you may very well qualify for L-1A status and your chance of getting an approval could be better than if you refile the L-1B.

I missed the last rally and I regret it. There was a moment in time when we were all really energized. The flower campaign was brilliant. But now we seem to have lost that fire - me included! I dont even remember my dates anymore. I know we have a serious problem of getting people together for anything. But starting small in our own cities and connecting to a national IV would probably work. I am here in Sterling Heights, MI (Detroit Metro Area) and I am willing to host people in my area It will be great if others in other cities can do that too. I am dre. ming, but think about it if this works. We can march to washigton again such large numbers that everyone will notice. I really think its time to get together and do something. Bouncing ideas on IV boards is great but lets meet and get to know each other and see if can talk about this problem face to face across the country. Thats what grassroot effort it!. If nothing, we will find new friends in each other. I hope to find that fire in us again and I thank you for reading my post!

I am in the same situation currently.
My company's attorneys believe that mine is not an AC21 case because I am going from Software Engineer (per PERM) to Lead Software Engineer, with substantial pay hike.
They are sending me papers for H-1B amendment and extension only (extension because my H-1B will expire soon).
Why is there a need to invoke AC21 in your case? Is there substantial change in responsibilities?
I think there will have to AC21 invoked as there is change in the job location. Secondly I will be going from Senior Assurance Associate to Assurance Manager. There will be additional responsibilities from what I already have.

USCIS has different meening for Re-entry permit and Advance parole. Infact the eligibility criteria is different for both. Look at I-131 Instructions. Its very clearly specified there.
Hope this helps.

2. Persons who hold aslyee or refugee status, and are not permanent residents, must have a refugee travel document to return to the United States after temporary travel abroad.

The document may be accepted by a transportation company in lieu of a visa as an authorization for the holder to travel to the United States. An advance parole document is not issued to serve in place of any required passport.

The whole reason for PERM labor certification is to determine whether there are no suitable US citizens who can do the job . If your company was able to find American citizens for the job I think you should be more worried about your job rather than filing for GC through this company.
Legally I would say that since your company has found the American citizens for the job posting then the job should go to them.
Best look for another job and apply for labor before Oct.

How did you come up with $745? I-485 application fees were $325 + $70 fee for biometrics. That makes it $395 per application or $790 for two applications. Maybe your lawyer gave you incorrect advice about the fees??

I e-filed EAD in June 2009 and the case is at NSC.....they did sent me some notice on Friday - which I am yet to receive - not sure if it is going to be a FP notice or request for evidence.
